Choosing a Career Path?

It can be a really hard deciding what you want to do 'when you grow up' and as you get older that time comes closer and closer. So, how do you decide?
Well, first it's helpful to write down what you do and don't enjoy doing. Also, write down what your interested in. This is important, because you carry on learning even after you stop schooling and you will learn many things in your career - so choose something that you will enjoy learning! Then look at the jobs that include the things you enjoy doing and are interested in as a part of the work.
Even if you've decided on a career, it's good to have back-up careers, incase you can't do your first choice. Once you've got one, or more than one career chosen, find out how to get there.

What is NCEA?

NCEA stands for National Certificates of Educational Achievement and is New Zealand's main secondary school qualifications.
There are 3 levels of NCEA. Students typically begin studying for their NCEAs in year 11 (age 15/16) and continue through years 12 and 13 (finished secondary school)Students can study at more than one level depending on their abilities in different subjects.
NCEAs are recognized by employers and universities in New Zealand and overseas as our national secondary school qualifications.
